IQ Biozoom secured 3rd place in the Baltic Sea Region Health Innovation Award. The award was granted for the project "IQ Biozoom – A New Era of Home Biomarker Testing Based on Saliva Analysis. A Non-invasive, Painless Method for Monitoring Selected Lifestyle Diseases."
The Baltic Sea Region Health Innovation Award, organized by the authorities of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the BioCon Valley organization, is one of the most significant health sector events in the Baltic countries. It brings together leaders and innovators shaping the medical sector in Europe. The competition, part of the nationwide health economy conference in Rostock, Germany, has been highlighting new opportunities and prospects offered by contemporary technologies for 19 years.
"This recognition is not only an honour for us but also a confirmation that our innovative approach to health monitoring is appreciated by industry leaders," says Dorota DardziĆska, CEO of IQ Biozoom. "Our technology, based on non-invasive saliva tests to determine the levels of selected biomarkers in the body, can significantly improve the convenience and timing of certain diagnostic tests by enabling them to be conducted at home. This is particularly important for monitoring selected metabolic and hormonal disorders."
IQ Biozoom is developing technology using advanced biosensors to measure biomarkers in saliva, such as glucose, cortisol, and lactates. In the near future, they plan to expand their work to include tests for CRP protein.
Securing 3rd place in the Baltic Sea Region Health Innovation Award is another step in the dynamic development of IQ Biozoom. Previous successes, such as reaching the finals of the EIT Health InnoStars Awards, the recent selection of Dorota DardziĆska, CEO of the company, for the first edition of the EmpoWomen Program, supported by EU organizations under the "Horizon Europe" initiative, and collaborations with leading scientific centres worldwide, including the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and the National Metrology Institute TUBITAK (Turkey), underscore the company's position as one of the regional leaders in preventive medicine innovation.
